The Bad Ox Band is made up of a varied group of country musicians lead by John Rewers. By having access to a number of musicians, the Bad Ox Band can provide clients with a variety of band sizes as well as a variety of band sounds. Steel guitar to slide guitar to fiddle to Dobro guitar. This way the band can provide music for dances, for just sitting and listening, or as background music for restaurants. The Bad Ox Band has performed as a mere duo to a full-fledged eight piece ensemble.

The main genre for the band is country, as noted, with a focus on the classic golden oldies. These old country melodies tell real life stories about people, their lives, their loves, their losses, their wins their hopes and dreams, their despair. The entire gamut of real feelings and everyday life. And the melodies come in the form of waltz’s, two step, Texas swing, blues, folk. Real music for real people. And with an open mind to latest trends in country music, the band keeps an ear out to the “new country” sound to seek out any brilliant new songs. Always keeping an open mind for great music.

The mandate of the band is to keep the enjoyment and appreciation of this great old time music going.
