Are you kidding me? Going on a tour? A definite YES. There are a few rules for country music artists. One. You have to… write a highway song… done. You have to… go on tour.
Next steps. And now that I have some original songs recorded and getting out there, I can start looking at doing a tour. Be it big or small, I am so looking forward to it. So many feelings. Anxious, vulnerable, excited, positive. What a growth experience this will be.
I discussed that matter of touring with a good friend of mine, Mr. Doug Thorsteinson, formerly of McQueen. Doug spent quite some years touring North America with his band and told me of some of the highlights and hardships that a band can encounter. Highlight, being the lead in band for Willie in concert. I could live with that. Downside, the grind. We agreed that if I am to do some touring it would have to be watered down from the type of schedule that he used to keep. Understandably so. He was in his 20’s at the time and I am not 20 anymore Toto.
But my enthusiasm for doing a tour still stands. I feel a tour will round out this new music career of mine, once again, a learning experience as there is so much to learn about this industry.
